TYPES OF PANTS

How Many Types Of Pants Are There?

February 3, 2023

I love a good facial mask mesh, especially during summer after a long day out. In winter, I usually go for sleeping masks, but during warmer weather I tend to opt for sheet masks with refreshing ingredients like aloe, green tea and cucumber.

Korean skin care brand BRING GREEN’s 90% Fresh Masks caught my attention with the packaging’s vibrant graphics and vegan formula boasting 90% natural plant extracts. The mask sheets are made of lyocell a.k.a. Tencel, a famed material made from 100% plant fiber. The 90% Fresh Mask comes in four types: Artemisia, Bamboo Charcoal, Aloe and Tea Tree, all offering soothing and refreshing benefits.

Artemisia

The plant: Artemisia is a genus of plants with hundreds of species including wormwood and mugwort. Like tea tree, this aromatic, bitter plant has antiseptic and disinfectant properties. Due to the plant’s strong odor, artemisia can also be used as a mosquito repellent. In traditional Chinese medicine, artemisia is used in a treatment called moxibustion.

Key ingredients: This mask contains 90% artemisia capillaris extract from Yeongcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do, in Korea. Artemisia extract is rich in beta-carotene, flavonoids, amino acids and Vitamin C to calm, moisturize and firm skin. The mask’s slightly green essence also contains allantoin to soothe skin, and rosemary leaf oil to revitalize skin.

My take: The essence is the most soothing out of the four masks in this trial, making it the most suitable for sensitive skin.

Bamboo Charcoal

The plant: As the name suggests, bamboo charcoal is charcoal made from bamboo. In activated carbon form, this ingredient is effective in cleansing pores, thanks to its highly porous structure which greatly increases its surface area for the absorption of dirt and sebum.

Key ingredients: This mask contains 90% bamboo charcoal extract from Damyang, Korea, to cleanse pores, patented Anti-Sebum P to tighten pores, and Bamboo Moist Complex to moisturize skin. Rich in minerals, bamboo charcoal provides nutrients to skin.

My take: Those who struggle with blackheads or enlarged pores should turn to this black mask as the bamboo charcoal unclogs pores and removes dead skin cells, dirt and sebum.

Aloe

The plant: Aloe is known for its cooling, wound-healing and skin moisturizing properties. This ingredient delivers moisture to skin without leaving a greasy feel, making it an ideal moisturizer for summer.

Key ingredients: This mask contains 90% aloe barbadensis extract from Jeju island. Aloe is rich in aloin, amino acids and vitamins to soothe and hydrate skin. The mask’s essence also contains allantoin to soothe skin, and bergamot fruit oil to revitalize skin.

My take: This mask serves skin well after a day in the sun as it helps to soothe and refresh skin. It’s suitable for oily skin.

Tea Tree

The plant: Boasting a strong and refreshing camphoraceous odor, tea tree oil is famous for its ability to inhibit the growth of acne bacteria, reduce inflammation and foster healing. Thanks to its unique scent, tea tree oil is commonly used in aromatherapy.

Key ingredients: This mask contains 90% tea tree leaf extract from Jeju island to cool skin while leaving a refreshing finish. It’s also enriched with tea tree leaf oil, which is rich in flavonoids and Vitamin C to revitalize skin, and allantoin to soothe skin.

My take: Suitable for acne-prone skin, this mask is the least hydrating of the four masks, but the most effective in soothing acne. It should be used more as an acne treatment than a moisturizing mask sheet.

The Verdict:

I love the silky Tencel texture of the 90% Fresh Mask. However, I wish the nose, philtrum and chin parts of the mask sheet were longer for a better fit – to be fair, I have a long face.  There was enough leftover essence to apply on the face and calves.

Out of the four masks, I love the Artemisia mask most, followed by the Bamboo Charcoal, Aloe and Tea Tree versions. As I have dry, sensitive and mature skin, the Artemisia mask delivered the best balance of soothing and hydrating effects. Overall, I’m content with the experience and results of using BRING GREEN’s masks.
