Tank Says The Business Of Destiny’s Child Was To Adore Beyoncé, As He Gives Praises To Kelly Rowland: She’s Amazing [VIDEO]

Singer/songwriter Tank recently shared his perspectives about the dynamics of Destiny’s Child and Kelly Rowland, one-third of the 90’s girl group.

R&B singer Tank, 46, gave flowers to fellow musician Kelly Rowland, 41, during an interview on REVOLT’s “Drink Champs.” Tank, born Durrell Babbs, said he never knew of Kelly Rowland’s impressive vocal range because he seemingly assumed it was the lead singer of the group, Beyoncé Knowles, 40. He told show hosts N.O.R.E, 44, and DJ EFN, 46:

“[And] I’m sitting in the studio like, ‘Do y’all hear these harmonies, do you hear her voice, do you hear the texture, do you hear her change in dynamic? Are y’all hearing this?’”

The “When We” singer continued:

“I never knew! ‘Cause I gave all the credit to Beyoncé. That’s how the business of Destiny’s Child was set up, to adore Beyoncé.”

Tank proceeded with further details on his discovery, stating that it wasn’t until he started working with Rowland that he realized her star talent. He said:

“And then I finally got in the ring with Kelly Rowland and realized that while Beyoncé is in the booth, there’s a Kelly Rowland saying ‘Ooh try this. Ooh and this note is crazy.’ And we never knew. She’s amazing.”

Legendary R&B girl group Destiny’s Child was formed in 1990 in Texas and was originally comprised of Beyoncé Knowles, Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett.

Despite their climb to success, LaTavia Roberson, 4o, and LeToya Luckett, 41, eventually parted ways from the group, alleging favoritism amongst Beyoncé Knowles and Rowland by Beyoncé’s father/group manager, Mathew Knowles, 70.

In early 2000, both LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett were replaced with Michelle Williams, 42, and Farrah Franklin, 41. However, Farrah Franklin quit after five months.

The trio continued as the final and best-known line-up of Destiny’s Child and went on to become one of the greatest musical trios of all time. They were nominated for 14 Grammy Awards, winning twice for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and once for Best R&B Song.

Destiny’s Child released their fifth and final studio album, “Destiny Fulfilled” in 2004, which consists of timeless hits “Lose My Breath” and “Soldier.” Since the group’s official split in 2006, Knowles, Rowland, and Michelle Williams have gotten together on multiple occasions, including the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and the 2018 Coachella festival.

Since the best-selling girl group has been on a hiatus, Rowland has entered the world of television and film. In addition to singing and songwriting, the television personality/actress became a coach/judge on a few talent competition shows. Rowland also starred in films such as the Lifetime Christmas movie “Merry Liddle Christmas” and its sequels.

Although the “Motivation” singer hasn’t released an official album since 2013, she has released multiple singles over the years that keep fans wanting more.
